ITINERARY


Day 01: ARRIVAL DELHI- THE CAPITAL OF INDIA
You will arrive at Delhi International Airport today. After customs, immigration and baggage claim, you will be greeted as you exit the arrival terminal building and transferred to your hotel. Rooms are available from 2:00 PM.


Delhi, the capital and third largest city in India, offers visitors a rich image of culture, architecture and great human diversity. Its history, monuments, museums, art galleries, gardens and exotic shows make it a privileged destination.

Day 02: Explore Old DELHI & New Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel.


Explore Old Delhi, enjoy a unique experience of taking a cycle rickshaw ride in the bustling market of Chandni Chowk! It is a unique tour that attempts to transport you 400 years back in history through the narrow and vibrant streets of Chandni Chowk. Visit the monuments like Jama Masjid; Asia's largest spice market and witness delightfully decorated shops, famous restaurants, colorful bazaars and architectural wonders.


Then visit the Sikh temple (Gurudwara Bangla Sahib) where Shabad Kirtan (devotional hymns) is sung almost all day long. Shabad Kirtan: is the kirtan-style singing of Shabads (devotional hymns) from Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred text of Sikhism.


It would also include a visit to the community kitchen where volunteers work and feed thousands of devotees daily; food is provided free of charge to all.


Afternoon visit New Delhi. Visit some of the famous monuments of the city. Start with a photo stop at India Gate. Later, drive past the circular Sansad Bhawan (Parliament House ) and the imposing Rashtrapati Bhawan (President’s House) .


Next visit is Humayun’s Tomb, built by the widow of the second Mughal emperor. The last monument to visit today is Qutab Minar, the tallest stone tower in India. Qutab Minar was started in 1199 BC by Qutb-ud-din Aibak and was completed by the Sultan’s successor and son-in-law, Iltutmish.

Day 03: DELHI – UDAIPUR (BY FLIGHT- AI-471@13:20/14:35HRS)

In the morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Udaipur.

Flying from Delhi to an idyllic abode; Udaipur is like a breath of fresh air. With marble palaces and sparkling lakes nestled within the green range of Aravali, this city is like a splash of colour in the colourful Rajasthan that is brighter, tinged with the hues of local legends and traditions.

Day 04: UDAIPUR – THE CITY OF LAKES

In the morning, you will continue your sightseeing tour of the city of Udaipur.
Your sightseeing tour will begin with a tour of the City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola.


The City Palace was built in 1725 in granite and marble with filigree balconies, ornate windows and glasswork. The walls of the royal palace extend for over a mile on the east side of the lake. Inside the palace is a labyrinth of courtyards, apartments and ornate halls.


Visit the museums and the public audience hall, the private chambers of the royal ladies in the palace and Sahelion-ki-Badi.


In the evening, you will enjoy an exclusive boat ride (subject to sufficient water level in the lake) on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. The beautiful Lake Pichola was expanded by Maharana Udai Singh after he founded the city.


The City Palace stretches a considerable distance along the eastern shore of the lake. From the boat you can see the city of Udaipur, which rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert.


You will also visit the Jag Mandir Palace , a charming island palace in the middle of the lake.

Day 05: UDAIPUR – RANAKPUR – JODHPUR (BY ROAD)

In the morning, departure by road to Jodhpur (255 kms / 6 hours)


En route visiting the Ranakpur Temples. Surrounded by tangled forests with monkeys abounding in the courtyard . Ranakpur is one of the five important pilgrimage centres for the Jain community.


The complex, which includes an extraordinary array of 1,144 pillars, each with a distinct design, carved ceilings and arches decorated with friezes depicting scenes from the lives of Jain saints, is fascinating.
Guides are not allowed to speak inside the temple's inner sanctum.


The ancient city of Jodhpur is surrounded by a 10 km long wall, which was built about a century after the city was founded. From the fort you can clearly see where the old city ends and the new one begins. The old city is a fascinating jungle of winding streets that are interesting to walk around. Eight gates lead out of the walled city.

Day 06: JODHPUR – THE BLUE CITY OF RAJASTHAN

Visit Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum Built by Maharaja Umaid Singh of the Rathore dynasty, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the home of the former royal family of Jodhpur and also one of the largest private residences in the world. The palace is divided into three compartments, namely the Maharaja's royal residence, a museum and a heritage hotel.


Mehrangarh Fort, built in the 15th century, is considered to be one of the most formidable and magnificent forts in Rajasthan. The fort and its palaces were built over a period of 500 years; as a result, varied building styles from many different periods, including the 20th century, are represented.


Jaswant Thada Built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, in the 19th century, this cenotaph is a royal mausoleum and a classic example of the Rajputana style of architecture. Its impeccable design and architecture symbolise the excellent craftsmanship of the bygone era.

Day 07: JODHPUR – JAIPUR (BY ROAD)

In the morning, departure by road to Jaipur (332 Kms/7 hours approx.)


The kingdoms of Rajasthan are an enduring legacy to Indian history. A land blessed with invincible forts, magnificent palaces, and waves of sand dunes and serene lakes.


No other region in the country brings together India's many paradoxes like the desert land of Rajasthan.
It is by far the most colourful region in India.


The city of victory, Jaipur presides over the fascinating desert state and its people: surrounded by rugged hills, each crowned by a formidable fort; and beautiful palaces, mansions and gardens spread throughout its precincts.


Palaces and fortresses of yesteryear that witnessed royal processions and splendour are now living monuments, naturally accepted into the lifestyles of the people of the “pink city”.


Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check-in.

Day 08: JAIPUR – THE PINK CITY

In the morning, you will be driven to the outskirts of Jaipur to the ancient capital of Amber to see the fabulous Amber Fort. Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar's most successful general, began construction of the Amber Fort in the 17th century. Before the City Palace was built in Jaipur, Amber was the seat of power.


Enjoy a short but memorable elephant ride to the fort courtyard or alternatively by jeep (subject to availability). Once at the top, wander through the extensive complex of courtyards and halls. Many of the rooms have delightful wall paintings, with precious stones and mirrors embedded in the walls.


Then visit Anokhi Hand Printing Museum. This museum is a must visit for all the block printing and craft lovers. Anokhi Museum houses the world’s finest block painting garments and is a cultural endeavor of the clothing brand Anokhi. This museum showcases the oldest art form of Rajasthani art at its finest. A detailed explanation about each fabric is mentioned along with the quality of the fabric and other details. Anokhi Museum holds a UNESCO certification and houses more than a hundred garments.


In the afternoon you will visit the City Palace, which is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doors. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, costumes, carpets and miniature paintings.


Walk to the adjacent Jantar Mantar or Astronomical Observatory made by the Maharaja of Jaipur, built in 1726 and is one of the five astronomical wonders built by Sawai Jai Singh and makes accurate predictions to this day. You will also stop to see the "Palace of Winds", also known as Hawa Mahal.


Night visit to Birla Temple to witness the illuminating “Aarti ceremony”.


Birla Temple, originally known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple, is situated beneath the Moti Dungri Fort in Jaipur. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, this temple is a proud architectural landmark of Jaipur.


Built in pure white marble, the Birla Temple is unlike the old traditional Hindu temples, and is built with a modern approach. Inside this magnificent shrine, one can see beautifully sculpted idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, as well as other Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Delicate carvings of Hindu symbols and ancient quotes from Geeta and Upanishads adorn the walls of this fascinating temple.

Day 09: JAIPUR – BAGRU VILLAGE TOUR

In the morning, we will visit a nearby village called “Bagru”. Bagru is a small town 30 km from Jaipur.
Known for its unique art of Block Printing, Bagru has emerged as one of the industrial areas for textile printing in Rajasthan with over 100 small and large scale factories.


This is a hands-on experience where you create your own piece of art with a mentor to take home as a souvenir from your travels to India.

Later return to Jaipur.


In the afternoon, visit the local market and then cooking demonstration with dinner at a local family home.

Day 10: JAIPUR – AGRA (BY ROAD)

In the morning, drive to Agra, en route visit Abhaneri, the beautiful place with some important wells which were built by King Chand Raja with a noble cause to help his people with aid during periods of drought.


Continuation, departure by road to Agra.


Agra in terms of ambiance is still associated with its Mughal period. The Mughals, besides being great rulers, were also great builders and preserved their best architectural wonders for Agra and its neighbourhood. It has many wonderful monuments and the Taj Mahal , the largest of all, is a
masterpiece of Mughal architecture at its finest.


Upon arrival at the hotel and check in.


Later, Mehtab Bagh from where you can see the Taj Mahal from the back (across the Yamuna river) Mehtab Bagh: Originally built by Emperor Babur as the last in a series of 11 parks on the east bank of the Yamuna (long before the Taj was conceived), this park fell into disrepair until it was little more than a huge mound of sand. The gardens at the Taj are perfectly aligned with those here, and the view of the Taj from the fountain directly in front of the entrance gate is special.

Day 11: AGRA

In the morning, we will visit the Taj Mahal, a certain place to be exchanged and what is better with the sunset in the background.
The Taj Mahal is everything that has been said about it and more. Taking 22 years and 20,000 men to build, the white marble was quarried 200 miles away and transported to the site by a fleet of 1,000 elephants. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of his love for his wife
Mumtaz Mahal, built in the mid-17th century, the Taj Mahal is truly one of the wonders of the world.


Then visit the Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture.


Rest of the day free for personal activities.

Day 12: AGRA – DELHI (BY ROAD)
DELHI – VARANASI (BY FLIGHT: 6E 176@ 16:30/18:00HRS)

In the morning, departure by road to Delhi (210kms/04 hours)


Upon arrival, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Varanasi.
Varanasi is one of the holy cities of Hinduism, consecrated to Shiva and is the most important pilgrimage center in India. Varanasi or Benares, as it was once known, is the holiest city in Hinduism and a sacred place for pilgrimage. Benares is a unique city that vibrates with cosmic forces beyond understanding.


Day 13: VARANASI
Very early in the morning, transfer to the ghats to, before dawn, descend to the Ganges, where we can observe the purification rituals from a boat and have a spectacular view of the palaces and temples next to the ghats.


We will walk through the old city in front of the Aurangzeb Mosque.
Return to the hotel for breakfast.


In the afternoon, excursion to Sarnath, a major Buddhist centre of the world. After attaining enlightenment in Bodhgaya, Buddha, the “Awakened One”, delivered his first sermon here. It was the sixth century, then, when he also started the wheel of law, the Dharmachakra Centre. This place of abode of the Rishis, was also known as “Rishipatana” (the place of the Rishis or sages). Buddha gave his first sermon in the Deer Park where he initiated his first five Buddhist disciples into monkhood.


In the evening, a rickshaw ride will be followed by an Aarti ceremony along the Ghats of the sacred Ganges River (a boat ride on the river). We can see some of the Hindu temples situated on the banks of the Ganges River.

Day 14: VARANASI-DELHI (BY FLIGHT- 6E-853@10:20/11:55HRS)

In the morning, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Delhi.


On Arrival and Visit to Indira Gandhi Museum, One can see the collection of rare photographs of the nationalist movement, personal moments of the Nehru-Gandhi family and their childhood and also visit the Santushti Shopping Complex, run by the Indian Air Force Wives Association, Santushti Shopping Complex is the place to go if you are looking for a posh shopping experience. Stretched across a lush carpet of greenery, Santushti offers you a boutique, personalaized and unique shopping experience like no other place in India.

Day 15: DELHI DEPARTURE (BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT)
